Dear Loved Ones in
Christ,
I praise the Lord
for the privilege to
send you this ministry
update. Since you did
received this report, it
means we have crossed
paths sometime over the
past 35 years of our
evangelistic ministry.
Some of you reading this
have been praying for us
for our entire ministry,
for which I am deeply
grateful. For those of
you who are receiving
your first newsletter
because we have met over
the past year, we write
to express our deep
appreciation and love.
One of our greatest joys
of serving in this
evangelistic ministry,
is meeting the people of
God and enjoying your
fellowship. My family
and I so love you all!
MINISTRY REPORT
2009 has been a
remarkable year of
ministry. It has been
a year full of great
victories as we have
seen precious souls
saved, men surrendering
to preach the Gospel and
countless Christians
experience Revival. The
Lord has changed so many
lives in the services
across the country. We
praise the Lord for His
Word and for all that He
has done each week.
This has been one of our
busiest years, as the
Lord opened so many
doors of opportunity.
We have served in many
churches for the first
time, as well as being
able to serve in many of
our annual Revival
dates. It has been our
honor to serve in 60
different churches this
year, in 34 week long
Revival meetings, Bible
Conferences and
Evangelistic Meetings.
Even though we have had
some challenges
mechanically, the Lord
has helped us safely in
each situation. He has
kept us safe as we have
driven over 45,000 miles
in ministry. We enjoyed
serving this year in
Virginia, Illinois,
South Carolina, Florida,
Alabama, Mississippi,
Kentucky, Oklahoma and
all over the great state
of Texas.
We were able to
record a new CD this
year thanks to a
“special offering” from
Pastor Benny Leonard and
the Liberty Baptist
Church in Midlothian,
TX. The kids and I
worked really hard on
that project and many
have told us that the
songs really minister to
their hearts. Feel free
to order a copy of the
new recording entitled,
“REVIVAL“, or any other
of our 11 projects. For
those of you who like to
sing along, we offer a
complete music track of
our last 4 recordings.
One of the real
highlights of this year
was the joy of preaching
for the Texomaland
Crusade for Christ,
which was held at the
Fair Grounds in Durant,
Oklahoma. Pastor Roger
Speers, who serves at
the Kemp Baptist Church,
felt a burden 2 years
ago to organize an
evangelistic crusade for
that area of Oklahoma.
He told his congregation
of his burden and
invited other area
Baptist churches in the
county to participate.
Thank God, at least 45
or more of the area
pastors joined the
effort and God honored
their labor, faith and
sacrifice. We saw over
15 souls saved and were
blessed to see Revival
come to the hearts of
many Christians. This
was in spite of terrible
storms and floods that
week. Also, many
Baptist churches chose
not to join the effort
because of their
misguided and
un-Biblical theology of
“whatever happens will
happen”, when it comes
to people being saved.
While I know that
“Salvation is of the
Lord” and I detest the
false practice of “easy
believism”, too many
churches have forgotten
that Jesus called us to
be “fishers of men, NOT
keepers of the
aquarium”. The Great
Commission is STILL in
the Bible. Forgive me
for preaching, but
beloved, we must be more
diligent to take the
Gospel of Jesus Christ
to a hell-bound world_
AMEN!! I so love Pastor
Roger Speers, his
wonderful church and all
who worked to make that
week a complete
success. If space
permitted, I could write
a book about what we saw
the Lord do in 2009.
We are very excited
about serving in 2010.
We have a completely
filled schedule and we
are filling up our 2011
schedule. The future is
bright and our faith is
absolutely in the Lord
and His Word. Please
refer to the schedule as
a prayer reference. We
hope to see you in one
of our services soon.
CAMPMEETING 2010
Mark your calendar
and plan to attend our
13th Annual
East Texas Baptist
Campmeeting at the Civic
Center in Canton, TX.
The dates are July
12-16, which is a Monday
through Friday meeting.
Besides the great
services each night, we
have special events for
the whole family during
the day of that week.
For those who can come
in on the Saturday
before the Campmeeting,
we are planning to
attend the Mesquite
Championship Rodeo. If
you can come in for the
Rodeo, let me know. I
always reserve a block
of rooms for that night
in Mesquite. On Sunday,
you can be with our
family and the Rochester
Family as we will be
serving in two churches
that day. There is more
information on the back
of this newsletter.
Feel free to contact us
for more information.
FAMILY UPDATE
WOW, this has been
a rather trying time for
us over the past few
months. Kristopher was
struck by an SUV as he
tried to make a legal
crossing with 3 of his
friends on a major road
in South Texas. The
approaching driver
slowed as if to allow
the young people to
cross, so Kristopher
stepped out as she
indicated she would let
them cross. She did not
stop or even swerve. By
the Grace of God, he
tried to avoid being hit
and jumped backwards.
He was struck and the
vehicle ran over both of
his lower legs with both
of the tires. While no
bones were broken, which
was a miracle, he did
suffer injuries to his
right leg. After a Care
Flight to the hospital
in Harlingen, we were
able to get him home to
Children’s Medical
Center in Dallas, TX.
There, he spent 10 days
and had 2 surgeries,
including skin grafts.
Thank the Lord he is now
fine and back to
normal. We thank the
Lord for sparing his
legs and his life!
The same day we
received Kristopher’s
“ALL CLEAR”, I received
the results that I had
taken of my head to find
out why I had lost my
hearing out of my left
ear. The test revealed
that I have a benign
tumor on the Audio Nerve
next to my brain. Thank
the Lord, the doctors
have told me from the
beginning that it is NOT
cancer. I am however,
facing a very serious 7
hour surgery to remove
the growth. The surgery
is scheduled for
December 8th
at Baylor Baptist
Hospital in Dallas, TX.
The surgeon has told me
to plan on a 4-6 week
recovery time off the
road. I’m praying for
God to help the doctors
do their work and for
the Great Physician to
put His Hand on my
life. I’m praying for a
quick recovery.
Tiffany has been
doing better with her
Arthritic condition.
She does feel pain from
the effects of these
recent cold fronts, but,
she is such a strong
woman and hardly lets
anything keep her from
being a wonderful wife,
mom, teacher, housewife
and my secretary. Pray
for her as she takes
care of her “Biggest
Baby” over the next
several weeks.
Keith, Kody and
Katie are all doing
well. The boys are
playing basketball on
their Homeschool/Christian
School team. They are
pretty good. We were
required to get Kody
those dreaded braces,
but, he realizes it will
be worth it all when
they come off. Little
Katie is 9 years old and
is becoming quite the
Gospel singer. With her
southern accent, strong
voice and powerful stage
presence, someone
recently told me that
she reminds them of a
Gospel-singing Miley
Cyrus. She is such a
blessing to us all. I
thank the Lord everyday
for such a sweet family
and for the privilege to
serve the Lord with
them.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR
SUPPORT
I want to express
my deep appreciation for
your prayers and
financial support for
our family and ministry
over the past year. We
are grateful to each one
of you who have stood
with us for the sake of
the Gospel and who have
enabled us to serve Our
Lord. We never take
lightly the sacrificial
help you have provided.
It goes without
saying, we need your
continued help now and
in the future if you are
able, whether it is a
monthly donation, an
occasional gift or a one
time love offering. It
would be such a great
encouragement,
especially as we face a
4-6 week recovery from
the surgery without our
regular income from
churches where we
serve. Because of my
condition, we were
required to cancel 5
revival meetings due to
the surgery and recovery
time. Please pray with
us as we trust God to
meet the needs that we
will face. We so love
and appreciate each of
you.
Your fellow servant,
